All items may be borrowed for up to 3 weeks and will be renewed twice automatically (a total of 9 weeks) unless they are reserved by another member. You will be notified via email regarding the status of your item renewals, overdues, reminders and reservations.

Microsoft Office, PDF or image files can be uploaded to the Library Web Print system or you can print in branch from our public PC's.

Every Library has public PCs that can be used for free by members. Bookings for the library PCs can be made in person, over the phone on 1300 737 277.
All branches also offer free Wi-Fi internet access to compatible devices.

All branches offer free Wi-Fi internet access for members. Simply login with your library card number and password. Wi-Fi is active 24/7, even when libraries are closed.

You can reserve up to 25 items at a time. Reservations can be made via the catalogue – just have your library card number and password nearby to sign in.
You have ten days to collect an available reservation.

Have overdue items

There are no charges for items returned after the due date.

Final overdue notices are posted out 28 days after the item/s are due. This is always a paper notice. The charge listed is the cost of the item/s if not returned. If the item/s are returned, the charge will be waived.

You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card. The replacement cost of any item lost or destroyed is required to be met by you or, in the case of someone under 18 years, your parent or guardian. This includes an item destroyed by fire or stolen.

You cannot borrow without your physical or digital library card. If you lose your card, please notify the library immediately and a stop can be placed on the card to prevent unauthorised borrowing. There is a $3 charge for a replacement card

Becoming a member

Becoming a member

Membership is free for any Victorian resident, provided they supply proof of identity and a Victorian address. You can join in person or, if you’re over 18, you can join online. Children under 16 will need the signature of a parent or guardian.

Borrowing Library items

Library members may borrow an unlimited number of library items, at any time. The only exception applies to board games and console video games; members may borrow up to two at a time.
All library material may be borrowed for 3 weeks.
