We’re helping make the internet a safer place.
Our online world is as much a part of our lives as our offline experiences, so it’s crucial we are all involved in supporting online wellbeing as much as physical health. Together let’s make the internet a safer place this Safer Internet Day #SID2020, visit: esafety.gov.au #eSafetySID
Safer Internet Day is a worldwide event that raises awareness about online safety and encourages everyone to help create a better internet.
Celebrated in 150 countries, Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission. In Australia, the eSafety Commissioner is responsible for managing and promoting Safer Internet Day.
Help spread the word and raise awareness. The first step to a better internet is to talk about the potential risks and ways to avoid them.
The eSafety Commissioner has outlined 5 top tips for online safety that everyone should share and follow.
- Think of others’ feelings
- Ask for permission
- Be an upstander
- Use privacy and screen time settings
- Ask for help
